Imagination in Motion

Kay Moates, Creator of Imagination in Motion writes:
Imagination in Motion teaches dance by focusing learning from the inside out, which changes behavior and encourages reflection. Thus, dance becomes a tool to encounter life. By experiencing community, creating stories, and expanding play, each class works as a troupe of dancers. Children become the dance as a natural response to art. Each age level is given developmentally appropriate dance technique building a progressive foundation in ballet. Imagination in Motion is dance with a difference.

Kevin accompanies all of the Imagination in Motion and Little One’s classes with live improvisational music.
Imagination in Motion's Purpose: Experience a children’s dance, yoga and creative arts program that teaches movement by focusing learning from the inside out. Movement becomes a healthy tool to integrate a wide range of school, play, and life experiences. By experiencing connection with others, creating stories, and expanding play, each class works as a moving community. Visual art and an accompanying musician further enliven the work of each student. Imagination in Motion is TRULY dance with a difference.

Imagination in Motion invites each child to BECOME the dance as a natural response to their inner world, as well as in response to an enriching class environment. Each class provides an aesthetic outer landscape which includes visual art, props, and musical accompaniment. The musician is an improvisational artist who creates music in the moment to support the movement of each individual class with the direction of the teacher.
